A scholarship awarded by Repton is an indicator of the potential a pupil has to attain even more richly and extensively in the future. Scholars will be challenged to always give their best, contribute to the rich life of the School, and are expected to uphold Repton's Values and Aims in all their endeavours.

Chris Read has been heralded as one of the most consistent and respected players in English cricket, having played for England, led Nottinghamshire to three major trophies, scored over 20,000 runs, and set a wicket keeping record which is unlikely to ever be beaten. He joined Repton in 2018 with a decade of schools coaching behind him and set about further strengthening our numerous cricket teams. Chris’ aim for cricket at Repton is to continue the development of girls performance cricket, increasing the number of female players into county pathways and regional academies without comprising academic attainment. The same philosophy applies to the boys’ team – Repton is a school where talented cricketers can hone the game they love and play at the highest level, all whilst receiving the very best education.
Cameron Wake played professionally for Northamptonshire between 2003-2005. He represented England at U17 and captained the U19 side. He went on to study at Durham University where he played for the MCCU side against first-class counties and other universities He is a fully qualified ECB coach who joined Repton in January 2022 after holding cricket positions at other top independent school. Cameron embraces Repton’s vision for our cricket to be a fully inclusive sport, regardless of age, gender, or ability.
Molly Holder is Repton’s dedicated girls’ football coach. Molly plays in the FA Women’s National league North and has recently transferred to Stoke City after a stretch at Middlesbrough. As well as benefiting from the experiences of a current league player, she is also working towards gaining the UEFA B coaching qualification.

Molly played for the North Yorkshire Centre of Excellence, then Huddersfield Town WFC in the National Women's Premiere League, followed by Durham in the Women's Championship. Her work for the Regional Talent Club coaching U12s and U16s means she understands the full youth development journey.
Molly is excited to focus on expanding the Repton girls’ teams and continuing to push the Girls’ 1st XI in the top-flight competitions. For her, fostering belief and respect for the women’s game is key, so that football continues to be a fulfilling part of our young women’s lives post-Repton.

Former world-ranked player and Director of Tennis James Rushby is a highly experienced tennis coach. After reaching the National Schools Finals (Glanville Cup) himself as well as leading the Derbyshire men’s county team to become National Champions, James used his knowledge of high-level youth performance and turned to tennis coaching full time. Whilst working at Loughborough’s High-Performance Centre (formerly the LTA centre), James worked alongside junior players to the peak of their youth career, reaching the National U18 finals. Yet, he credits his understanding and delivery of advanced tennis programmes following his time as Performance Coach at The Cliff Drysdale Tennis Academy in Florida.
James has extensive links to the US tennis circuit, which has helped to guide pupils to achieve tennis scholarships for places at both top US and UK Universities. Alongside Assistant Performance Coach Ben, James now heads up the newly formed Repton Rackets Club.
Leah joined Repton in 2014 to lead our netball programme and has since secured 10 county titles and a regional title. Leah is a national league netball player and coached for 12 years as a Level 2 England Netball coach. She has strong links to local super league Loughborough Lightning and is supported by Commonwealth Gold winning England Netball and Loughborough Lightning player, Beth Cobden.
Leah is a strong advocate for encouraging Repton’s netballers to represent local clubs and provides ongoing dedicated support and coaching to Repton’s netball scholars.
The talented coaching team is led by Director of Swimming Ash Morris. Previously he was responsible for leading Hamilton Aquatics in Dubai for 13 years, where he saw the programme grow to over 5000 swimmers, developing over 30 Junior/Senior International representatives as part of his daily coaching, along the way.

Ben began coaching whilst still at school himself. Throughout his career, he has been an integral part of Derbyshire tennis both as a player and as a highly successful youth coach. Having competed in the Derbyshire Men’s LTA National Champion Team as well as being six-time singles and doubles County Champion. He has used his extensive experience to develop junior coaching programmes.
Ben captained the successful U14 Derbyshire County Cup team to the National Finals and his coaching has been recognised with him being awarded Derbyshire Junior Development Coach of the Year 2020/2021 and Former Head Coach of the Year for two years running. Before starting at Repton, he was Head Coach at a local Tennis Club for four years and will use this experience to further develop the coaching programme for the newly formed Repton Rackets Club.
