SPIRIT OF PLACE

WELCOME to REPTON

Who we are, what we do, and what we believe in could not be more pertinent for young people facing the modern world. With 1000 years of education history behind us, the traditional values of encouraging pupils to aim high whilst showing respect for all are still of utmost importance, however Repton is undoubtedly modern in terms of practice and outlook.

We are ambitious for every one of our pupils; Repton is small enough to ensure that the talents of each individual are nurtured and valued, yet large enough to compete on the international arena across academia, music, the arts and sport. We believe in the pursuit of academic excellence and success, but this is not at the expense of an all-round and broad education.

Of course, the most important role of any school is to guarantee your child a safe place in which to thrive. Each generation of educators grapples with a new challenge, and adolescent mental health is, without doubt, the most important priority for all schools. The fast pace of life and the demands placed on young people by society and perpetuated on social media means that it can be difficult for them to navigate adolescence alone.

We are enormously proud of the emphasis we place on outstanding pastoral care at Repton and our pupils thrive through being part of a purposeful community, navigating the same hurdles together to create enriching life experiences and enduring friendships.

Repton’s teachers, tutors, coaches and wider community are here to help support pupils develop into socially responsible, rounded citizens ready for the challenges and opportunities of the twenty-first century.

I hope to welcome you through the Arch soon but in the meanwhile, do take some time to consider Repton’s strategic plan in which I set out our ambitious vision for Repton in the next five years. When you do visit us, above all, you will meet teachers who are wholly committed to providing the very best education and pupils who are genuinely happy to be at school.
