HARRY MOORE BECOMES YOUNGEST DEBUTANT IN DERBYSHIRE COUNTY CRICKET CLUB HISTORY

O Block pupil Harry Moore has secured his place in the history books by becoming DCCC’s youngest ever debutant at just 16 years of age.

Harry took to the Incora County Ground pitch on August 18th 2023 to make his club debut for the Metro Bank One Day Cup fixture against Worcestershire Rapids.

A passionate player, Harry is a keen member of Repton’s 1st XI Cricket Team, and since his debut has also been called up by the Young Lions for fixtures against Ireland and Australia.

Martin Speight, who joins Repton in January 2024 as Director of Cricket said, “it is a wonderful achievement to be selected at such a young age and is a testament to Harry’s skill and talent that Derbyshire have shown so much trust in him and clearly believe he has the potential to have a fine future in the professional game.”

The Repton community is extremely proud of Harry’s fantastic achievements so far this summer. Hopefully the experience of playing for Derbyshire in the Metro Bank One Day Cup has given Harry a real insight into the professional game and the inspiration to work hard to fulfil his potential and reach the highest levels in the game. We all look forward to seeing how his cricket career develops, not just as a bowler but into a genuine all-rounder, over the coming years.
