REPTON REIGNS IN ENGLAND HOCKEY INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

Repton is celebrating after successful campaigns in the Super 6s Schools and Clubs Finals 2022.

Congratulations to Repton’s U18 girls, winners of the Super 6s Indoor School’s Championships 2022 after a tense penalty shoot out victory over Cranleigh. Competing at home, the girls began the event as reigning champions and worked hard to defend their crown, winning all three group games.

Meanwhile, the U18 and U16 boys competed in the Super 6s Schools Finals at Whitgift where the U18s finished in the top four. Repton’s U16 girls came away with silver medals after qualifying top of their group with three wins from three in a hard-fought competition.

Numerous Reptonians also competed in the Clubs Indoor finals for Repton Hockey Club, including four current pupils playing in the Womens Premier Division who qualified for the Super 6s finals at the Olympic Park in London. The U16 boys spectacularly won their tournament to take the title of Clubs Indoor Champions – a fantastic achievement and valuable experience for the current Repton pupils in the squad. The U18 boys reached their semi-finals without conceding a loss in their pool and the U18 girls won their final game to take fifth place in the country.

As a major sport at Repton for both boys and girls, all pupils receive regular hockey training with our experienced coaches. The most talented players can opt for coaching across all three terms and our close ties with local hockey clubs enables pupils to experience the breadth of club hockey and compete against the best players from across the country.
