SIENNA RECEIVES HOCKEY WRITERS' CLUB YOUTH AWARD

Repton’s 1st XI vice-captain and junior England international hockey player Sienna Dunn received the Hockey Writers’ Club 2022 U18 Youth Award at a ceremony earlier this month.

The Hockey Writers’ Club UK Youth & Junior Awards are awarded annually for an outstanding contribution to hockey within the club and school environment. It is voted for by the HWC committee from nominations by clubs and schools, with the judges taking into consideration hockey ability as well as a players’ potential for development and personal qualities.

Repton’s talented hockey players have an admirable track record in receiving this accolade. It was won last year by Repton Boys’ 1st XI Captain Harry Stone, in 2019 by Old Reptonian Claudia Swain, Xavier Teyletche in 2017, and by former Great Britain player and OR Joie Leigh in 2011.

It was announced in November 2022 that Sienna was selected for the England U18 2022-23 squad as part of the England Age Group Programme – a significant milestone for a junior hockey player where players access an inspirational training environment with exposure to playing top European nations.

Repton’s elite hockey players benefit from our performance sports programme, giving pupils the option to hone their game throughout all three terms playing fixtures against schools, universities and club sides.
